Sept. 28, 2017 Week 7 - Marshall 
RUSTON ââ'¬" The Louisiana Tech women's soccer team will play its fourth Conference USA game of the season on Friday when they take their first ever trip to Huntington, West Virginia to go up against Marshall at 6 p.m. CT at Hoops Family Field.
LA Tech (8-2-3, 1-1-1 C-USA) has totaled four points through three matches in the league standings, producing one win over UTSA and a recent draw against the three-time defending champion North Texas.
The Lady Techsters were 10 minutes away from snagging three points against the Mean Green, but he opponent was able to equalize late on a scramble in the box from a corner kick.
Sophomore Jenna Dages' fifth goal of the season (and second in league action) held up for almost 50 minutes until North Texas tied it up. The striker has already surpassed her goal total from her freshman year when she registered four.
Junior Mylene Roy-Ouellet continues to pace the team in scoring with 17 points ââ'¬" eight goals and one assist.
Junior Courtney Tompkins and sophomore Carlotta Cartelli continue to split time in net for the Lady Techsters. Cartelli has started the last two games.
LA Tech is 5-1-1 away from home this season with the lone loss coming in its last road game at Rice.
After suffering losses in its first four matches, Marshall (3-7, 1-2 C-USA) picked up back-to-back victories against Gardner-Webb and Ohio. The Herd then dropped three straight, including two against league foes Charlotte and North Texas.
In its last match though, Marshall matched its season total in goals in just one game, defeating Southern Miss 4-3 at home in overtime for its first conference win.
Jordan Sackaris and Babby Powers lead the team offensively with two goals and one assist each. Megan Bonelli has been in net for all 10 matches, registering two shutouts.
LA Tech and Marshall are tied, 2-2, in the all-time series on the pitch. Three of the four matches have been played in Ruston, including last year when the Herd came out on top by a final score of 2-1.
The other meeting between the two squads came in the C-USA Tournament quarterfinals in Miami in 2015. Marshall won, 2-1, as the No. 2 seed.
