RUSTON, La. - Louisiana Tech Baseball and Lincoln Parish Farm Bureau Insurance have partnered together to introduce the Farm Bureau Insurance Youth Academic Sports Award. Beginning March 31^st local community youth will have the opportunity to be recognized for their efforts in the classroom and the athletic fields with special access and prizes during a Louisiana Tech Bulldog Baseball game.

To qualify as a nominee, students must be in third through eighth grade and enrolled in a participating Lincoln Parish school. Consideration will be given to students with a minimum of a 3.0 GPA and must participate in at least one local youth sports program.

Nominations will be taken from participating schools with a live vote hosted through the Will Specht Louisiana Farm Bureau Insurance Facebook page.

Prizes include throwing out the first pitch, autographed memorabilia, and a grand prize of 2019 Bulldog Baseball season tickets. Winners will be recognized at the following Bulldog Baseball games with a Grand Prize Winner announced May 19^th when the bulldogs take on Old Dominion. Farm Bureau Insurance Youth Academic Sports Award game nights, March 31^st, April 14^th, April 24^th, and May 5^th.
