Lady Techsters Continue Homestand vs. ULM on Tuesday

RUSTON, La. – The Louisiana Tech volleyball team will conclude a stretch of three matches in six days on Tuesday night, hosting ULM in Tech's final midweek non-conference tilt of the season at 7 p.m. from the Thomas Assembly Center.

LA Tech (6-10, 1-1 C-USA) enters Tuesday night's matchup after splitting a pair of league contests this past weekend. Tech dropped a narrow 3-2 decision to North Texas on Friday night, before responding on Sunday with a convincing 3-1 win over Middle Tennessee.

After starting the season 1-7, the Lady Techsters have won five of their last eight matches. Tech is currently in the midst of a four-match homestand, concluding Sunday at 1 p.m. against Marshall.

Leading the way for the Techsters last weekend was junior middle blocker Madeline Davis. The Mount Pulaski, Ill., native, recorded 24 kills while hitting .429 and led the team with 14 total blocks – good for 1.56 blocks per set. Her 33.5 points were also the most on the team.

In conference action this season, Davis' .429 hitting percentage ranks seventh best among league leaders, while her blocks per set mark of 1.56 ranks third. Her 14 total blocks are tied for most among league leaders in C-USA play.

As a team, Tech has held its conference opponents to a .203 hitting percentage. Through the first two league matches, that figure ranks fifth-best in C-USA.

As for ULM (6-8, 0-2 Sun Belt), the Warhawks have staked wins in four of their last six matches, but dropped two home league contests this past weekend to Texas State and UT Arlington.

The Warhawks are led offensively by Catherine Griffith (105 kills, 2.23 k/s) and Kate Blasingame (102 kills, 2.27 k/s). As a team among fellow Sun Belt programs, ULM ranks 10th in hitting percentage (.165), fourth in opponent hitting percentage (.178), 12th in assists per set (9.60), 12th in kills per set (10.38), third in blocks per set (2.32), fourth in service aces per set (1.35) and seventh in digs per set (13.83).
