RUSTON, La. – Louisiana Tech Track & Field is set to open the 2019 indoor season on Friday when the Bulldogs and Lady Techsters travel to compete in the Texas A&M Ted Nelson Invitational on Friday, Jan. 11 in College Station, Texas.
 
This Friday's indoor meet will be held at the Gilliam Indoor Track Stadium at the McFerrin Athletic Center on the campus of Texas A&M. The action begins at noon on Friday with both field and running events set to continue throughout the day.
 
"We are very excited to be opening the season at Texas A&M on Friday," head coach Gary Stanley, who is starting his 37th overall year at Louisiana Tech, said ahead of the team's first indoor meet of the 2019 season. "This is the youngest team we have had in many years and we are anxious to see how the freshmen perform early on."
 
LA Tech's men and women will compete in 12 running events and 11 field events over the course of the day on Friday. Fans can follow along with all the action from Texas A&M's campus as live results will be available at www.flashresults.com.
 
LA Tech will be competing in a field of 17 track & field programs in this Friday's Ted Nelson Invitational, including Houston Baptist, Incarnate Word, Lamar, McNeese State, New Mexico JC, Northwestern State, Prairie View A&M, Sam Houston State, UTRGV, Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, Texas A&M-Kingsville, Texas Southern, Tillotson University, UL-Lafayette, UL-Monroe and Western Texas College.
