LA Tech Hosts UAB on Thursday Night

Tipoff is set for 6:30 p.m.
RUSTON – Louisiana Tech will aim to put an end to a two-game losing skid when they return home to face UAB on Thursday night at 6:30 p.m. inside the Thomas Assembly Center on Karl Malone Court.
The game will be broadcast by beIN Sports with Phil Schoen and Megan Perry calling the action that will be available through streaming service providers Sling and Fubo TV as well as on beINSports.com and the beIN Sports Connect app with select cable and service providers.
Fans can also listen to the Voice of the Bulldogs Dave Nitz and Jack Thigpen call the game through the LA Tech Sports Network on KXKZ 107.5 FM (Ruston), KJVC 92.7 FM (Mansfield) and KRMD 100.7 FM/1340 AM (Shreveport) as well as on the Louisiana Tech X mobile app.
LA Tech (11-5, 1-2 C-USA) led by one point with less than four minutes to go at Rice this past Saturday, but the Owls closed the game on a 17-6 run to hand the Bulldogs their second consecutive loss.
The big difference in the game was three-point shooting as LA Tech hit only 6-of-26 from beyond the arc while Rice connected on 11-of-25, three of which came in the final minutes.
It was another narrow loss that ultimately came down to execution in the end. In all of the 'Dogs five losses this season, they have either led, been tied or trailed by less than two possessions in the closing minutes of the game.
Junior DaQuan Bracey led the team in scoring versus the Owls with 18 points, his team-leading seventh time doing so this season, while two other players matched their season highs in scoring. Sophomore JaColby Pemberton registered 15 points and junior Ra'Shawn Langston recorded 13 points off the bench.
Bracey has scored in double figures in nine straight games, averaging 17.8 points per game during that span. Pemberton has been another consistent, offensive threat as of late having scored in double figures in eight straight games, averaging 13.4 points per game during that span.
Defensively, Bracey has a streak of nine games with at least one steal while sophomore Anthony Duruji has recorded at least two blocks in seven of the last 11 games.
LA Tech has yet to be beaten at home this season, putting together a perfect 8-0 record so far in the TAC. The Bulldogs are one of only three C-USA teams that are still undefeated at home this season. The 'Dogs also own a perfect 3-0 record against UAB (10-5, 2-0 C-USA) in Ruston.
Despite losing four starters off last year's team, the Blazers have continued their winning ways. They have reached the 10-win mark after sweeping its first two conference games at home this past weekend against Florida Atlantic and FIU.
UAB has won four of its last five games, winning convincingly over FAU (67-50) and FIU (84-65) which ran their home record to 8-1. UAB has only played two true road games so far this season, going 1-1.
They are one of the best rebounding teams in the country, ranking first in C-USA and 20th in the nation in rebounding margin at +7.8. They also rank second in the league in offensive rebounds per game at 12.27.
Lone returning starter Zach Bryant, a C-USA All-Freshman selection a year ago, is pacing the team on offense with an average of 12.9 points per game.
LA Tech and UAB will be meeting for the 14th time on the hardwood. UAB owns an 8-5 advantage, but LA Tech has a narrow 5-4 advantage in the series since the two teams became league foes in C-USA.
