RUSTON – For the third time this season and the second straight week, Louisiana Tech's
Autumn Woodard earned Conference USA Offensive Player of the Week honors.Â
Â
The sophomore striker was at it again this past weekend, scoring both game-winning goals to sweep Florida Atlantic and FIU at home to help LA Tech earn six points in the conference standings.
Â
With the two home victories, the Lady Techsters have won 11 straight at home (program record) and are also riding a 15-match unbeaten streak in conference home games.
Â
On Friday, the Orange Park, Florida native struck in overtime for the golden goal to give LA Tech the 1-0 win over defending C-USA champion and top-20 RPI FAU. She split the two center backs and ran down a long ball before finishing at the far post. The Owls came in riding a six-match winning streak.
Â
Then on Sunday with the score knotted up at 1-1 in the second half, Woodard raced down another long ball, dribbled into the box and sent a missile past the keeper for what would be her sixth game-winner of the season.
Â
Over the weekend, she set two single-season program records – 15 goals and 34 points. The 15 goals is the most of anyone in the country in Division I and is tied for the third most in C-USA history. The 34 points ranks second in the nation and is tied for the sixth most in C-USA history.
Â
Woodard has now scored in 11 of LA Tech's 13 matches this season, including all four league games.
Â
She shared the week seven award with Julia Patrum of Charlotte.  It is the most Player of the Week honors won by a Lady Techster in a single season in program history (three others have won it twice).   Â
Â
LA Tech returns to the pitch on Friday, Oct. 11 when they host UAB. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. on James Field at Hoss Garrett Stadium on the campus of Ruston High School.
