LA Tech (2-1) suffered that loss this past Saturday, falling 82-72 at Creighton. However, they could not get over the hump as the Bluejays knocked down 13 three-pointers.
DaQuan Bracey led the charge offensively with a team-high 17 points. He has scored in double figures in all three games, averaging a team-high 14.0 points while shooting 55 percent from the field and 50 percent from beyond the arc.
He has also been excellent on defense so far, registering a total of eight steals in the three games. As a whole, the Bulldog defense is averaging 11 steals per contest which ranks in the top 25 in the country.
Mubarak Muhammed was another Bulldog scoring in double figures in Omaha. The senior forward recorded his second career double-double in the game, scoring 14 points and pulling down a career-high 16 rebounds. It was the most rebounds by a Bulldog in a single game since 2017.
After missing the first two regular season games, Amorie Archibald made his return from injury. The junior guard came off the bench to post 10 points against the Bluejays.
The 'Dogs look to continue their dominance in home non-conference games, having gone 71-4 in such contests since the 2008-09 season.
Mississippi Valley State (0-4) is in the midst of a seven-game road swing to start the 2019-20 season. The Delta Devils have suffered losses at Iowa State, Utah, Central Michigan and most recently a 91-81 loss at Western Michigan.
MVSU played its best game of the season in its last game at WMU, falling by only 10 thanks to a combined 41 points from Caleb Hunter and Michael Green.
Offensively, the Delta Devils has one player averaging double-figure points and that is Green who is averaging 21.3 points per contest. Defensively, MVSU has allowed 100+ points in three of their four games.
Tuesday will mark the third meeting ever between the two programs with LA Tech winning both. One of those meetings came last season when the Bulldogs secured a 96-80 victory over the Delta Devils in Ruston.
