RUSTON – Louisiana Tech soccer head coach
Kevin Sherry announced on Monday the addition of Carson Henry to the recruiting class set to join the team in 2020.
Â
Henry, a 5-foot-10-inch midfielder from El Dorado, Arkansas, becomes the sixth member to sign in the early signing period along with Kalli Matlock, Erin Chung, Alma Cedefors, Maci Geltmeier and Leonie Machauer.
Â
"Carson is a talented midfield player who can also play in the back line," said Sherry. "She is a very good communicator and has great awareness on the soccer field. She is tall and aggressive with good levels of technique which will be very useful against teams who play a more direct long ball type of game. She is also a natural leader and has a great love of the sport."
Â
Henry has lettered in soccer for the past three years at El Dorado High School where she has been a three-time all-conference selection as well as a two-time all-state performer.
Â
She has led the Wildcats in scoring twice while making three straight playoff appearances. She has been a member of the club team Arkansas United since the age of 11, securing three state championships.
