Zettler Earns C-USA All-Academic Honors

Senior defender has a 3.83 cumulative GPA in Biology

RUSTON – Louisiana Tech senior Kaylee Zettler was named to the 2019 Conference USA Women's Soccer All-Academic Team, announced by the league office on Monday.

Zettler was part of the 11-person second team, becoming the sixth Lady Techster in program history to earn C-USA All-Academic honors.

The defender from Meridian, Mississippi has a 3.83 cumulative grade point average while majoring in Biology.  She was a C-USA Academic Medalist and C-USA Commissioner's Honor Roll recipient the last academic year after transferring from William Carey.

On the pitch, Zettler played mostly at forward during her junior season when she accumulated 14 points on six goals and two assists.  This season, she made the move to defender and has started all 19 matches for LA Tech (one of only two players to do so).

Zettler has played the second most minutes (1,592) of any Lady Techster this season, amassing nine points on two goals and five assists while helping the defense post four shutouts.  In conference play only, she has played all but 39 minutes of the 10 matches (96 percent).

LA Tech is set to take on No. 1 seed Florida Atlantic in the C-USA Tournament Quarterfinals on Wednesday, Nov. 6 at 11:30 a.m.  The matchup will be streamed live on ESPN+.
