RUSTON – Louisiana Tech's
Autumn Woodard and
Elizabeth Doll were selected to the United Soccer Coaches All-South Region for Division I Women's Soccer.
Â
Both earned third-team honors after helping LA Tech to a 13-4-3 overall record and a Conference USA Tournament appearance, the sixth straight for the program.
Â
Despite missing two full games and a good chunk of two others due to injury, Woodard still ended up netting 17 goals this season which is tied for the eighth most in the NCAA and set a new Lady Techster single-season program record.
Â
The sophomore transfer also set other program records, including for most points with 39 which ranked first in Conference USA as well as scoring in seven straight matches.
Â
The Orange Park, Florida native scored in five league games, including the game-winner against regular season champion Florida Atlantic. She also scored multiple goals four times, one of which came in the regular season finale at Southern Miss to help clinch a spot in the postseason.
Â
Doll was the anchor on the other side of the field, starting in 18 matches at center back where she was the primary defender on the opposing team's top striker.Â
Â
The junior was also the primary header on set pieces, tallying six points on the season with two goals and two assists. Both goals netted were game-winners, including the season opener versus Southeastern Louisiana and at ULM.
Â
The Pearl River, Louisiana native went the distance in 14 matches, playing all but 21 minutes throughout the entire conference schedule. She was part of shutting out C-USA regular season champion FAU twice.
Â
This marks the sixth straight year that at least one Lady Techster has earned USC All-Region accolades. It is only the second time multiple players have been named (2016).
