Bulldogs Add High School Standout in Spring Signing Period

Isaiah Crawford out of North Crowley HS in Fort Worth, Texas

RUSTON – Louisiana Tech head coach Eric Konkol announced on Friday the addition of forward Isaiah Crawford during the spring signing period.

Crawford, at 6-foot-6-inches and 220 pounds with a 7-1 wing span, was a standout player at North Crowley High School in Fort Worth, Texas.  He joins Cobe Williams, Xaiver Armstead and Lance Erving who signed in the early period as members of this recruiting class.

"We are thrilled to welcome Isaiah Crawford to the Louisiana Tech Family," said Konkol.  "Isaiah is a versatile forward with great length and skill.  He has the ability to attack off the dribble, score from all three levels and make plays for others.

"Isaiah also uses his 7'1 wingspan to rebound and deflect the ball on defense.  He competes with a poise much older than his age and comes from a tremendous program at North Crowley High School under Coach Tommy Brakel."

He is best described as a winner, leading the Panthers to a 65-10 overall record the past two seasons on varsity while claiming two 4-6A district titles and being a 6A regional semifinalist and quarterfinalist.

As a senior, Crawford averaged 18.0 points per game while shooting 57 percent from the field, 36 percent from three and 73 percent from the foul line.  He also averaged 7.5 rebounds, 4.2 assists, 2.0 blocks and 1.9 steals per game.

He was named the Fort Worth Star-Telegram Offensive Player of the Year for the Greater Fort Worth area.  He was also selected to the TABC 6A All-Region I Team, District 4-6A MVP and was a member of the District 4-6A All-Academic Team while being named to three All-Tournament Teams.

In just two seasons of varsity basketball (75 games), he finished his career with the 10th most points in school history with 1,094, seventh most rebounds with 558 and second most blocks with 147.
