RUSTON, La. – Louisiana Tech head coach Matt Terry announced Thursday the signing of Grant Smith (Montgomery, Ala.). Smith will join the Bulldogs for the 2021-22 season.
 
"Grant will make a great addition to our team," Terry said. "He is very talented and an excellent ball striker. Along with his skill set, Grant is also an exceptional student and a great person. We are excited to have Grant on board with us."
 
Smith attended Montgomery Catholic Preparatory School where he earned five individual high school wins. He had a high school career low of 65 and an average score of 70.0 in 2020. Smith won the 59^th Bud Burns Dixie Invitational in September after finishing a three-under-par total of 139 in the 36 hole event.
 
Smith was named the Montgomery Metro Player of the Year in both 2018 and 2019, was the 2019 Blue-Grey High School Invitational champion and has been named the Montgomery Catholic Most Valuable Player for all four years of his high school career.
