RUSTON – The Louisiana Tech men's basketball team continues non-conference action on Tuesday night when they take on Jackson State at 6:30 p.m. inside the Thomas Assembly Center on Karl Malone Court.

LA Tech (4-2) is coming off its best defensive performance of the season this past Saturday. Unfortunately, it did not result in a victory as the Bulldogs fell, 61-56, on the road to UL-Lafayette.

The 'Dogs, who were up by as much as 16 points in the game, held ULL to just 34.4 percent shooting from the field and forced the Cajuns into 17 turnovers.Â

LA Tech has started to crank up the pressure on defense this season. After forcing just 31 turnovers through their first three games (10.3 per game), the Bulldogs have forced 50 total turnovers in the last three contests (16.7 per game).Â

Kalob Ledoux continued to stay hot shooting the rock, making all three of his three-point attempts, finishing with 11 points. The redshirt senior is now 16-of-32 from beyond the arc for 50 percent and is averaging a team-high 15.0 points per game.Â

Amorie Archibald knocked in a couple of triple as well which allowed him to crack into the top 10 in program history for career made three-pointers. The senior now has 136 to his credit. He is now averaging double-figures this season at 10.0 points per game.Â

The third Bulldog averaging double-digit points is
Kenneth Lofton, Jr. The freshman led the team in scoring this past Saturday with 13. He is averaging 11.2 points while shooting 55 percent from the field.

In the four home games this season, LA Tech is averaging 80.8 points per game while shooting 47.9 percent from the field and 42.9 percent from downtown.

After having its first four games of the season canceled, Jackson State returned to the court this past week, suffering road losses to Mississippi State and Ole Miss.

Tristan Jarrett and Jayveous McKinnis are the top two scorers for the Tigers on the young season, averaging 15.0 and 12.0 points per game, respectively. Jarrett averaged a team-best 16.8 points per game last season while McKinnis earned SWAC Defensive Player of the Year honors after amassing 58 blocks and 29 steals.

Jarrett was named the Preseason Player of the Year and McKinnis was selected as the Preseason Defensive Player of the Year while JSU was picked to finish fourth in the SWAC preseason polls.

Tuesday will be the 14th meeting all-time in the series with LA Tech leading, 11-2. It is the most meetings against a SWAC opponent for the Bulldogs who have won 10 straight over the Tigers and are a perfect 8-0 against them at home.
