Bulldogs and Warhawks Meet on Thursday

Tipoff is set for 6:30 p.m.

RUSTON – Louisiana Tech finishes a three-game home stand to open the season on Thursday night when they play host to I-20 neighbor ULM at 6:30 p.m. inside the Thomas Assembly Center on Karl Malone Court.

The matchup will be streamed live on CUSA.tv (subscription required).  Fans can also listen to Kyle Roberts and Jack Thigpen call the action through the LA Tech Sports Network on KPCH 99.3 FM (Ruston) and KOKA 980 AM (Shreveport) as well as on the LA Tech Athletics app.

LA Tech (2-0) is coming off a weekend sweep of UT Arlington (76-71) and Northwestern State (91-77), improving its home winning streak to eight.

The Bulldogs were very efficient on the offensive side of the ball, combining to shot 48 percent from the field, 44 percent from beyond the arc and 74 percent from the free throw line.

Kalob Ledoux led the way in scoring, putting up 13 points against the Mavericks and a game-high 23 points versus the Demons, to give him a season average of 18.0 points per contest.

Not far behind him is JaColby Pemberton who notched back-to-back double-doubles while coming off the bench as a sixth man.  The redshirt senior is averaging 16.5 points and 11.5 boards per game.

Isaiah Crawford busted out to score a career-high 19 points against NSU, putting his early scoring average at 10.5 points game.  The fourth and final Bulldogs averaging double-digit points is Kenneth Lofton, Jr. at 10.0 points.  The freshman had a breakout performance in just his second collegiate game, amassing 16 points and six boards.

Thursday's opponent, ULM (0-0), will be playing its first game of the 2020-21 season.  The Warhawks went 9-20 overall last season and were picked to finish 11th in the Sun Belt Conference preseason poll.

LA Tech and ULM will face off for the 89th time and for the first time since 2013.  The Bulldogs lead the all-time series, 52-36, and have won six in a row over the Warhawks.  The two teams will meet again on Dec. 22 in Monroe as part of a home-and-home this season.
