NORMAN, Okla. (Feb. 8, 2020) - Â The Louisiana Tech men's and women's track teams posted strong efforts in their final tune-up meet at the J.D Martin Invitational. Tech saw eight top-five finishers on Saturday amongst several lifetime bests.

"We had a lot of great efforts across the board in this meet," head coach
Gary Stanley said. "We had multiple lifetime bests, and I liked what I saw from our teams and our coaching staff as we look ahead to the conference championship indoor meet."

In the men's weight throw,
Maurice Moore finished third with a throw of 17.57m, coming just shy of his lifetime best mark of 17.69m.
Â
Meanwhile,
Caleb Clark finished among the top three competitors in the men's triple jump – posting a mark of 14.65m.
Â
On the women's side,
Sydney Anderson came just shy of setting a new personal best in the high jump, as she finished fifth among all competitors with a mark of 1.70m.

Also in the field events,
Denzel Harper and
Colin Butler finished third and fourth, respectively, in the men's long jump. Harper garnered a third-place finish, finishing with a mark of 7.40m, while Butler placed fourth at 6.98m.

Leah Scott again finished with a strong mark in the women's triple jump, placing fifth among all competitors in the finals of the event at 12.42m.

Rounding out the field event highlights was
Tim Fitzgerald, who finished 6
th at 15.38m. His throw topped his previous lifetime best of 15.12m.

The Bulldogs and Lady Techsters also excelled on the track as
Josiah Perez (fifth in the men's one-mile, 4:25.31) and
Kayla Watson (sixth in the women's 60m hurdles, 8.97) finished among the top six in their respective events.

Chris Robinson placed third in the men's 600-yard race, finishing with a time of 1:13.76.

The Bulldogs and Lady Techsters will wrap up their indoor season at the C-USA Championships in two weekends (Feb. 22).
