COLLEGE STATION, Texas – Louisiana Tech will play four games in two days as the Lady Techsters face Texas A&M and Montana twice each at the Davis Diamond Classic Friday and Saturday.
The schedule includes Friday games against the Grizzlies (12:30 p.m.) and the Aggies (5:30 p.m.). Saturday's slate includes contests against Montana (12:30 p.m.) and Texas A&M (3 p.m.). Both of the Texas A&M games can be seen on the SEC Network +.
The Lady Techsters (4-8) are coming off a 4-0 loss at Stephen F. Austin on Tuesday following a weekend that saw Tech post a 2-2 record at Dr. Billy Bundrick Field. Although Tech dropped a pair of games against Baylor (3-1, 3-2), the Lady Techsters showed their potential.
The Grizzlies are 4-10 after splitting a pair of games last weekend in El Paso. Montana had wins over UTEP and Incarnate Word, loses to No. 11 Arizona State and UTEP.
Big Sky Player of the Week Maygen McGrath, who went 7 for 14 with seven RBIs and six runs scored, helped the Grizzlies bat .314 at the tournament to up their league-leading batting average to .298.
Texas A&M enters the tournament posting a 13-3 record and are currently sitting on a three-game win streak. The Aggies hosted Texas Southern for a midweek doubleheader where they picked up back-to-back run-rule victories.
Offensively, Haley Lee leads the team in multiple categories including, batting average (.415), hits (21), home runs (9) and RBI (18). Shaylee Ackerman posts a .395 batting average, six doubles and two home runs.
