RUSTON, La. – Louisiana Tech will play back-to-back midweek match-ups over the next two days as the Lady Techsters face McNeese State Tuesday at Joe Miller Field at Cowgirl Diamond in Lake Charles before returning home to host Southeastern Wednesday.
Tuesday's game is set for 2 p.m. start time while Wednesday's home game is slated for 4 p.m.
The match-up against McNeese State will be streamed live on McNeeseSports.com ($$) while live stats are also available through the McNeese website.
Tech (9-6) is coming off a weekend that saw the Lady Techsters win three out of five games at the Mardi Gras Mambo while also taking No. 2 ranked Alabama down to the final frame before falling 2-0.
The Tech pitching staff has been stellar through 15 games, sporting a combined 1.57 earned run average while allowing only 78 hits in 98 innings of work.
Audrey Pickett (6-2, 1.22),
Emma Hutchinson (3-3, 2.13) and
Lauren Menzina (0-1, 1.95) have combined to keep opponents off balance for most of the early season.
Sierra Sacco (.347, 17 H, 13 runs),
Katelin Cooper (.324, 11 runs, 5-5 SB),
Brooke Diaz (.277, 3 HR, 15 RBI) have led the Lady Techsters offensively this year. Tech has recorded 35 extra base hits thus far, including 12 home runs and 20 doubles.
McNeese State (9-6) won their final two games at The Evangeline Bank and Trust Invitational II where they blanked Manhattan College 12-0 then downed Memphis 3-1 on Saturday following losses to Sam Houston and UNLV earlier in the slate.
