RUSTON, La. – Louisiana Tech returns to Dr. Billy Bundrick Field as the Lady Techsters host FIU in a three-game Conference USA series starting tonight at 6 p.m.
Tech and FIU will both play Saturday at 2 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m. The Lady Techsters have played their last 10 games away from home.
Tech (15-12, 0-3) looks to snap a five-game losing skid, including dropping three straight league games at Florida Atlantic last weekend.
The Lady Techsters pitching staff has been solid through the first 27 games of the season as Audrey Pickett (9-4, 1.66 ERA), Emma Hutchinson (4-4, 2.70) and Lauren Menzina (2-4, 3.40 ERA) forming a strong trio in the circle.
Offensively, freshman Sierra Sacco continues to lead the team, batting .398 with 23 runs scored and 11 stolen bases. Tech will benefit from the return of Brooke Diaz into the lineup. Diaz (.294, 4 HR, 19 RBI) has missed the past five games due to a concussion.
