DENTON, Texas -- On the heels of a season-long six game winning streak, Louisiana Tech will face a litmus test over the course of the next 10 days as the Lady Techsters play their next seven games against teams currently in the top 50 of the most recent NCAA RPI.
That stretch begins Thursday when head coach
Josh Taylor and Co. face North Texas (24-8, 12-3 C-USA) in a three-game Conference USA series at Lovelace Stadium in Denton. All three games will be aired live on ESPN+ with Kyle Youmans providing the play-by-play.
Tech (27-15, 7-5) has shown vast improvement statistically across the board this year, offensively, defensively and in the circle.
However, with three games vs. North Texas, a midweek at Ole Miss and a three-game homestand against UAB next weekend, Tech will see where it matches up with some stiff competition.
"We have been taking some consistent strides forward and so much of it is confidence," said Taylor. "Our players are starting to believe in themselves, both as individuals and a collective group. I have all the confidence in them. If we come out and continue to play with that same confidence and focusing on the process, I am excited to see what we can do down the stretch."
North Texas enters the weekend as the West Division leader while the Lady Techsters are alone in third place (trailing second place UAB as well). Tech out outscored its last six opponents 49-15 during the win streak.
