RUSTON, La. –
Lindsay Edwards added another award to her resume on Tuesday as she was named to the Conference USA All-Academic Team.
Edwards is one of only 11 league players to be named to the prestigious team that is voted on by the academic advisors from each member institution within Conference USA.
She becomes just the second Lady Techster softball player to earn the award, joining former Techster Morgan Turkoly.
"This is a great honor for Lindsay," said Tech head coach
Josh Taylor. "On the field honors are always nice, but to be selected as part of this impressive group of student-athletes for the work they have done in the classroom is even more impressive. She is so deserving of this award."
The Plano, Texas, native boasts a 3.86 grade point average in Kinesiology and Health Sciences. She is a 4-time member of the Conference USA Honor Roll and a 3-time C-USA Academic Medalist while earning Easton/NFCA Scholar Athlete honors multiple times.
Edwards has also been the recipient of the C-USA Spirit of Service Award during her Tech career.
On the field, Edwards was named the 2019 Conference USA Freshman of the Year and was a first team all-conference and all-region selection as a freshman.
She has been a member of three Conference USA title teams, including the 2019 and 2022 regular season champions and the 2019 tournament champions.
