RUSTON, La. – In his final year at Louisiana Tech,
Taylor Young tabs First-Team All-American honors announced on Thursday morning by the American Baseball Coaches Association.
The 2022 C-USA Tournament MVP sat atop the nation in runs scored for a second straight season and broke his own single-season record as he came across home 89 times in 2022. Young led the Bulldog offense in nine different categories and produced 28 multi-hit games.
The West Monroe native broke three different records this season finishing his career with a .330 batting average in 249 games played. Young set the new hits record in the last series of the season at Charlotte and caps off his five-year tenure with 297 knocks.
It's the second consecutive year that a Bulldog has earned these honors after
Parker Bates and
Hunter Wells were selected as ABCA/Rawlings All-Americans.
The teams are voted on by members of the American Baseball Coaches Association and the process is led by the ABCA NCAA Division I All-America Committee, which is chaired by Tommy Raffo of Arkansas State University.
