The Bulldogs and Warhawks face off for the 93rd time on Thursday night
RUSTON – The Louisiana Tech Men's Basketball team makes the short trip down I-20 to face off against ULM on Thursday night inside Fant-Ewing Coliseum. The Warhawks will be the first of six in-state opponents that the Bulldogs will play this season.

ABOUT LOUISIANA TECH (1-1)
LA Tech reached the century mark for its first win of the season, defeating Lyon College by a final score of 100-43. The Bulldogs controlled every facet of the game, in particular the defensive end where they forced 24 turnovers and allowed the Scots to shoot just 31.3 percent from the field.
It marked the 80th time in program history that LA Tech scored at least 100 points. Sixty-one of those points came via the bench, marking the sixth time in the last decade that the bench scored 60+ points. Through two games, the Bulldog bench is averaging 47.0 points per game.
One of those primary bench players has been newcomer Jaylin Henderson. After scoring a team-high 16 points in the season opener at Colorado State, he posted a game-high 24 points against Lyon College. The junior is averaging 20.0 points per game while shooting 62 percent from the field, 71 percent from three, and 90 percent from the foul line.
Dravon Mangum has been another key contributor off the bench, averaging 9.0 points and 10.0 rebounds per game. He recorded his second career double-double this past Monday against the Scots with 11 points and 10 boards. Dating back to last season, he has pulled down double-digit rebounds in three of his last four games.
Then there was the mainstay, Isaiah Crawford. Needing just 13 points to become the 45th member of the 1,000-point club at LA Tech, the senior tallied 21 points for his 11th career 20+ scoring performance.
Set to see his first action as a Bulldog on Thursday will be Daniel Batcho who recently got his waiver approved by the NCAA to be immediately eligible.
ABOUT ULM (1-1)
After opening the season with a lopsided loss at top-10 ranked Houston, ULM went all the way up to Central Michigan and defeated the Chippewas, 74-64, as part of the MAC-SBC Challenge. The Warhawks buried 10 three-pointers, including a pair during a late 9-2 spurt in the second half to pull out their first win of the season.
ULM, who was picked to finish 14th in the Sun Belt Conference preseason poll, is guided by Second Team Preseason All-Sun Belt guard Tyreke Locure. Through two games this season, he is anchoring the team in almost every statistical category including scoring (10.0), rebounding (5.0), assists (4.0), and steals (2.0) per game.
Fellow teammate Nika Metskhvarishvili is also averaging 10.0 points per game. He was a Preseason All-Sun Belt selection a season ago but suffered a season-ending knee injury after just five games into the slate.
ULM is led by head coach Keith Richard who is in his 14th year with the Warhawks. Richard has amassed 153 victories at ULM, the third most in program history. He was the head coach at LA Tech for nine seasons (1998-07), totaling 150 wins with the Bulldogs which is the fourth most all-time.

LA Tech and ULM gets set to face off for the 93rd time as the Bulldogs own a 56-36 advantage in the series. The two programs separated by 30 miles played every season at least twice from 1953-91 as conference rivals in the Gulf States Conference and Southland Conference.
The series did not happen again until 2008, which started a six-year run. Now, the programs have played one another in each of the last four seasons. The Bulldogs have won 10 straight over the Warhawks, including last season's 79-58 victory inside the Thomas Assembly Center. It is the longest streak of either team in the series.
