RUSTON – The Louisiana Tech Men's Basketball team goes for its fifth straight win on Saturday as the Bulldogs play host to Dillard inside the Thomas Assembly Center on Karl Malone Court.

ABOUT LOUISIANA TECH (4-1)
LA Tech ended up sweeping its multi-team event this week, defeating Southern Utah as well as McNeese State, 71-62. Despite the Cowboys cutting their deficit down to two points with 3:44 to go this past Wednesday, the Bulldogs closed out the game on a 9-1 run to record its 13th consecutive home win over McNeese.
Daniel Batcho led the charge with a game-high 17 points while Tahlik Chavez (season-high 14), Tyler Henry (season-high 14), and Sean Newman Jr. (11) chipped in offensively. Batcho enjoyed a very successful MTE, averaging 13.5 points, 10.0 rebounds, and 3.5 blocks.
Defense has been a huge factor in LA Tech's early success this season. They currently rank 20th in the country and No. 1 in Conference USA in scoring defense at 60.4 points allowed. The Bulldogs also rank first in CUSA and 66th in the nation in field goal percentage defense at 39.0.
For a fourth consecutive game, the Bulldog defense limited its opponent to less than 30 percent shooting from beyond the arc (first time since 2021). They currently rank 57th in the country in three-point percent defense, allowing teams to shoot just 27.5 percent from deep.
ABOUT DILLARD (3-3)
Dillard competes in the National Associate of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) as a member of the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference (GCAC).
The Bleu Devils had won three straight with victories over Huston-Tillotson, John Melvin, and Louisiana Christian, but had their winning streak snapped this past Tuesday with an 82-71 loss at LSU-Alexandria. Dillard had previously beaten the Generals, 72-70, at home in what was its first win of the season.
Dillard gets the bulk of its scoring from its starting five, which has accounted for 78 percent of its points. The leader of the group is Justin Warren who is averaging 12.3 points per game. Armond Williams (11.3), Tory Cargo (11.2), and Mike Reeves (10.8) are the other Bleu Devils averaging double-digit points.
