ABOUT LOUISIANA TECH (10-10)
The Bulldogs dropped their Conference USA series opener this past weekend to Charlotte, losing two of three. LA Tech got the Friday night win behind the trio of pitchers -- Jonathan Fincher, Landon Tompkins, and Ethan Bates -- to win, 2-1. However, the 49ers won big on Saturday (14-6) and Sunday (9-0) outhitting the Bulldogs, 35-11.

For Fincher, it was his third victory of the season and his third quality start.  He went 6.0 innings, allowing just one run on five hits to post his 22nd career win on the mound.  Meanwhile, Bates had the shutdown inning in the ninth for his third save of the season (also hit a solo home run in the game).

After missing four games due to illness, catcher Jorge Corona had a big weekend at the plate. The junior recorded four hits in his two games against Charlotte, going 4-for-7 including a three-hit, three-RBI performance on Saturday. He homered twice for his third career multi-homer game while also recording a double (has a team-high six doubles this season).

Infielder Logan McLeod was another bright spot for LA Tech this past week. He had an OPS of .600 in the five games -- two against Air Force and three versus Charlotte. The junior batted .462 while collecting six hits on top of five walks drawn. He got on base all four times in Sunday's game (single, two walks, and one HBP).

ABOUT ULM (7-14)
ULM enters the midweek game having lost four straight, including getting swept in its Sun Belt Conference series opener against Old Dominion.

The Warhawks are led offensively by Riley Davis who is batting .294 with a team-high eight doubles.  He is one of three players who has at least 20 hits along with Kade Dupont and Shawn Weatherbee.  Weatherbee also has eight of his team's 35 stolen bases this season, a total that ranks 34th in the country.

Defensively, ULM has turned 19 double plays this season, the 10th most in the nation.  Pitching wise, they have a team ERA of 5.57 with two shutouts.

THE SERIES
LA Tech leads the all-time series over ULM, 75-51 (on record).  The Bulldogs have owned the season series against the Warhawks as of late, winning 15 of the last 16 meetings (dating back to 2007).  The Bulldogs have won five straight in the series as well as eight straight over the Warhawks in Monroe.

The two teams met twice last season with LA Tech winning, 8-4 and 11-5. They have played twice every season since 2015 (except for 2020 COVID year).
