RUSTON | Louisiana Tech Soccer added a veteran presence to their defensive backline with the signing of Fordam and Israeli national team member Tal Faingezicht, as announced by head coach
Steve Voltz announced Friday morning.
"To say we're excited about a player of Tal's ability to join us would be an understatement," said Voltz. "Her experience at Fordham and internationally will help us and bring experience to an already very talented class. In addition, Tal is just an outstanding person and will fit well into our team culture."
Faingezicht saw action in 16 matches in two seasons with the Fordham Rams, logging 439 minutes of action. She appeared in six matches, making one start, before being sidelined with an injury in 2021. Last season, she logged season-high 51 minutes against Yale in 10 appearances. She also played a crucial role down the season's stretch and aided in a season-finale shutout of Massachusetts. She was also named to the Atlantic 10 Commissioner's Honor Roll.
"It took a while, but I am super excited and beyond grateful to join this team," said Faingezicht. "Good things take time, and I can't wait to start working with the other Techsters. Big things are coming for this program."
Before her time at Fordham, Faingezicht graduated with honors from Hof Hasharon High School and the Wingate Institute for Sports Excellence in her home country. She began playing in the Israeli Premier League at 14 and played club soccer for ASA Tel Aviv, Israel.
The Givat Brenner native also served as the team caption for the U19 Israeli National Team and saw action in the UEFA Women's U19 Qualifiers in 2020 while also seeing action in the 2018 and 2019 qualifiers.
Faingezicht joins five previous signees from the 2022 early signing period to the LA Tech squad that finished fourth in the 2022 Conference USA regular season after being picked ninth in the preseason poll.
