LA Tech looks to get in the win column following a 3-3, draw with Jacksonville State in the CUSA home opener this past Thursday. The Bulldogs gained a point after their draw on Thursday against the Gamecocks.
Junior
Carmen Suarez has scored in the last two matches. She scored on a corner kick in the 70th minute, which put the Bulldogs up 3-1. Carmen would score in the game against New Mexico State on a penalty kick attempt.
Senior
Emma Jones scored a goal and earned an assist in the Jacksonville State game. It would be her first game of the year were she scored and earned an assist. It was her second multi point game of the season.
ABOUT UTEP (1-9-1) (0-2)
The UTEP Miners are currently on a five-game losing streak. The Miners last defeat came from New Mexico State, which they lost 2-0. UTEP has allowed 27 goals on the season, which they have only scored 7 goals all year.
THE SERIES
LA Tech and UTEP will face off for the eight time ever on the pitch. The Bulldogs currently lead the series (4-2-2). LA Tech last win against UTEP in 2021, which the Bulldogs beat the Miners 2-1 in Ruston. The Bulldogs won the first matchup ever in 2013 against the Miners with a score 3-0.
