SUGAR LAND, Texas - Louisiana Tech rallied late to secure a shutout victory over Army. Louisiana Tech (9-0) beat Army (4-4), 4-0, scoring four runs on five hits with one error while Army managed to have five hits and two errors on Friday at Constellation Field. 

LA Tech's offense had been hitless until the seventh inning following an Ethan Bates single to left field. The Bulldogs followed up in the eighth inning, starting with a Michael Ballard walk and a Will Safford walk. Kasten Furr picked up a 2-RBI double, scoring Ballard and Safford, plus the first two runs of the game. While having one on base and two outs, Cole McConnell continued his five-game hit streak with a home run to right field, which put Tech up 4-0. Senior Michael Ballard continued his nine-game hit streak after he singled to right center. 

Louisiana Tech's pitching was in a duel on Friday night. The Bulldogs pitchers struck out 13 batters and gave up five hits on the night with no runs. Senior Reed Smith had five strikeouts on 4.2 innings pitched and gave up four hits. Grant Hubka gave up one hit while striking out two batters and walking three others. Sam Brodersen (2-0) picked up his second relief win this season. Ethan Bates went 2.0 innings, giving up two walks and four strikeouts.
