Thirteen Bulldogs Set Season Best to Open 44 Farms Team Invitational

COLLEGE STATION, Texas — Louisiana Tech set 13 season bests, including three setting personal bests, to open the 44 Farms Team Invitational at E.B. Cushing Stadium in College Station on Friday.

The Bulldogs opened the day with the field events, setting five season bests.

Elizabeth Sebera stepped up on her second attempt and launched a season-best throw of 136'5" before coming back to beat that by three inches on her sixth and final attempt to finish ninth at 136'8".

The women's long jump had DaLoria Boone, Leah Ellis, and Tia Reder set their season's best mark. Boone would set her career best on her second jump at 19'5.25" to finish sixth. Ellis and Reader would finish at 19'2.5" and 18'0.25", respectively, to finish ninth and 11th. A'reil Williams finished inside the top 10 with a jump of 19'3.25" to finish behind Boone at seventh.

Conference USA Indoor Champion Mateo Smith would set his best mark on the season with a jump of 24'6.25" on the men's side.

The running events started with the women's 200m, in which Shatalya Dorsett ran a 23.67 to win heat five and finish sixth overall.

Six Bulldogs set their best times this year in the men's 200m, highlighted by Valentino Rudolph's 20.75, the 39th fastest time in the country so far. Devin Walton (21.02), Rodney Heath Jr. (21.23), Karo Oghomi (21.40), Jacob Phillips (22.19), and Urijah Williams (22.82) all hit their top marks.

Laeden Tucker finished the running events with a fifth-place finish in the 400m hurdles at 53.48, his best time this year.

UP NEXT
The 44 Farms Team Invitational concludes on Saturday. The field events start at 3 p.m. CT, followed by the running events at 6 p.m. CT.
