Ellis Finishes 16th at NCAA East Regional

LEXINGTON, Ky. — Quoi Ellis closed out his season with a 16th-place finish at the NCAA East Regional at the Kentucky Track and Field Facility.

Ellis took to the track in the first heat of the 200m against eight of the top runners in the east two days after running a personal best of 20.57 seconds during the first round.

His quarterfinal run wasn't far behind, finishing with his second-fastest time at 20.64 seconds. Needing to finish 12th, Ellis' time would place him just 0.26 seconds outside the qualifying time.

Tonie-Ann Forbes and A'reil Williams will get a chance to punch their ticket to Eugene, Oreg., for the NCAA Championship, starting with the high jump at 1 p.m. CT and the 100m hurdles at 5:15 p.m.
