Jorge Corona has signed a free agent deal with the Chicago White Sox. Corona will also join former teammate
Cole McConnell in the Windy City, as McConnell was drafted by the White Sox in the tenth round on Monday.
Corona batted .316 at the plate with 77 hits and had an on-base percentage of .388 while slugging .570 this season. The Miami native had 16 homers on the year and drove in 51 RBI for the Bulldogs. Behind the plate, Corona threw out 24 runners on 52 stole-base attempts and led the Bulldogs in putouts with 540.Â
Corona was named an ABCA/Rawlings South All-Region First Team selection this past season.Â
