Tech Head Coach Steve Volts on the freshmen stepping up:
"I think we did good starting new players, especially with two freshmen defenders and our young players stepping up in their new roles," stated Voltz.Â
 Fifth-year players
Kalli Matlock and Tomoyo Kuroyanagui put up shots in the contest. Kuroyanagui's shot was saved by the keeper in the low center of the goal, and Matlock's shot missed high over the goal.Â
Tech had 12 shots taken outside the box while having four in the box. Goalkeeper
Cadence Rutledge saw two shots and earned herself a save in her Bulldog debut.Â
"We dominated the game with shots, but we need to be forceful in the attacking third. I thought we were too careless with our chances today while at this level, you simply cannot be," Voltz emphasized.Â
Tech was initially supposed to play on Thursday, but due to weather in the area, the game against Nicholls was scheduled for Friday morning.
