Tech fell in its home opener to South Alabama 2-0 after South Alabama scored two early goals in the first half. The Bulldogs connected on eight shots, while South Alabama totaled ten shots, however, Tech held the Jaguars to one shot in the second half.

Grambling is coming off a 3-1 loss at ULM on Thursday night. The Tigers scored in the 17th minute via a penalty kick from Cindy Norfeles, but ULM went on to score three unanswered goals. The Tigers put up seven shots against ULM, while the Warhawks totaled ten shots.

The Tigers and the Bulldogs have faced each other a total of 13 times, dating back to 2004 when Tech lost to Grambling 6-0.
In last year's matchup, Grambling defeated LA Tech for the first time in 15 years following a 2-1 victory in Ruston. LA Tech hadn't lost to Grambling since 2008 when the Bulldogs lost 3-2 in extra-time in Grambling.
