RUSTON - Louisiana Tech Softball announced its fall schedule, with the team's first exhibition set for Friday, October 4, when the Bulldogs travel to Monroe to face ULM at 5:30 p.m. LA Tech will begin official team practice on Monday, September 30.
The fall slate features six exhibition games, including two home games.
"We are excited to begin fall team practice," stated head coach
Josh Taylor. "Our fall schedule brings many challenges that that will help prepare us for a strong spring schedule. Our skill sets have been productive and exciting. To date, our individuals have been very promising and we are excited to get the girls together as a team and continue to work and develop."
After the season opener at ULM, LA Tech will host the Warhawks at 6:00 p.m. on October 15 at Dr. Billy Bundrick Field. The Bulldogs will then welcome LSUA on Sunday, October 20 for a 2:00 p.m. matinee before traveling across town to take on Grambling State on Friday, October 25 at 3:00 p.m.
LA Tech will conclude its fall season on October 27 with a doubleheader in Baton Rouge, facing LSU and Northwest Florida State.
The Bulldogs are coming off their third straight 30+ win season after finishing 32-22 in 2024. LA Tech returns 15 players from last year's team including four All-CUSA selections in
Alexis Gilio,
Allie Floyd,
Claire Raley, and
Mattison Buster. The Bulldogs have added six new faces to this year's squad, made up of three freshman and three transfers.
Fans can meet this year's team during the inaugural "Dinner on the Diamond" hosted by LA Tech Softball on Saturday, October 19 at 7:00 p.m. at Dr. Billy Bundrick Field. Former Tennessee All-American and two-time Olympian Monica Abbott will be the guest speaker.
The evening will include a formal program, dinner with a cash bar, silent auction, raffles and more. Gates open at 7 p.m. and dinner along with our formal program will begin at 7:30 p.m.
Head coach
Josh Taylor will introduce this year's Bulldog softball staff and players and will provide insight into the 2025 season. A two-time Conference USA Coach of the Year, Taylor is entering his fourth year at the helm of the program after leading Tech to the 2022 CUSA regular season title.
