ABOUT LOUISIANA TECH (9-6, 2-2)
Louisiana Tech is coming off an east coast road swing that saw them go from Miami to Lynchburg, Virginia, over a 48-hour span. The Lady Techsters fell to FIU 72-61 on Thursday before dropping the game at Liberty 75-64 on Saturday.
Paris Bradley continues to play at a high level for the Lady Techsters. The freshman claimed her third consecutive Freshman of the Week honor after scoring 37 points and grabbing 10 rebounds in Tech's two games. Against FIU, Bradley had a game-high 20 points and pulled down six boards. She would follow that up with 17 points and four rebounds against Liberty. She shot 57.1 percent from the field, 54.5 behind the arc, and 87.5 from the free throw line.
Grad student Robyn Lee continues leading the Lady Techsters in scoring on the season. The 5-8 guard has scored in double figures in six consecutive games, including 19 against Liberty on Saturday. Lee has led LA Tech in scoring in six games and is one of four Lady Techsters with a 20-point performance this season.
Louisiana Tech is one of the best teams in the nation at getting to the free-throw line. The Lady Techsters rank second in CUSA and No. 17 in the country with 21.53 attempts per game. The 14.40 made free throws also rank second in the league and are No. 38 in the country.
ABOUT JACKSONVILLE STATE (7-7, 1-2)
Jacksonville State enters the contest after dropping their last two games to WKU and Middle Tennessee. The Gamecocks fell 51-44 to the Hilltoppers and 69-35 to the Blue Raiders.
Jax State has one of the top defenses in the country and only allows 57.1 points a game. Their lockdown defense only allows the opponents to make 36.3 percent from the field and 23.7 percent from behind the arc.
The Gamecocks are well-balanced, with every player averaging at least 3.0 points per game. That leads them to their bench, scoring 29.5 points a contest.
Their top three scorers are the frontcourt combo of Bre'Anna Rhodes, Mya Barnes, and Asia Barclay. The trio also leads the team on the glass with a combined 16.1 boards a game. Rhodes, a four-year member of the Gamecocks, leads the team with 9.6 points and 5.3 rebounds a game.
After spending two seasons together at Shelton State Community College, Barnes and Barclay arrived at Jax State last season and have made an immediate impact for the Gamecocks. Barnes averages 7.3 points, while Barclay contributes 7.1. Both lead the team with 5.4 boards a contest.
