Preview: LA Tech at Liberty – CUSA Tournament

The Bulldogs open up postseason play with a 10 a.m. CT first touch against the Flames on Sunday, November 2.

LYNCHBURG, Va. – Louisiana Tech is set to open up Conference USA Tournament play for the first time since 2023, taking on the host and No. 2 seed Liberty Flames at Osborne Stadium in Lynchburg, Virginia.

The Bulldogs (4-12-2, 3-4-1 CUSA) concluded the regular season with a 1-1 draw at home on Senior Day against Delaware in their inaugural meeting. The Blue Hens struck first early in the 17th minute before Grace Clay equalized in the 65th minute on her first career goal from Ashley Leonhart's third assist of the season.

LA Tech faces the Flames for the first time since the 2024 season, with Liberty taking a 2-0 victory over the Bulldogs in Ruston. This is the first time in program history the two sides will take the pitch together on Liberty's home turf.

The Bulldogs have shown recent success when playing on the road, holding a 2-1 record in their previous three CUSA road matches.

Previewing the Flames
Liberty earned a share of the CUSA regular-season title with Western Kentucky, concluding the conference slate with an unbeaten 6-0-2 record.

The Flames are led by CUSA's Player of the Year and Offensive Player of the Year in Ivy Garner, who ended the regular season with 10 goals, six assists and 26 total points, all of which currently lead the conference.

Liberty also boasts the CUSA Defensive Player of the Year and Goalkeeper of the Year on their roster in Lauren Littleton and Peyton Huber. Littleton saw a start in all 17 matches she appeared in this season with over 1,400 minutes, two goals—one of which was a game winner, and an assist.

Huber led the way for Liberty's keepers with eight starts in 10 appearances. She holds a 6-1-2 record with four clean sheets, 16 saves and four goals allowed for a 0.47 GAA.
