Bulldogs to host Cowgirls to Close Five-Game Home Stand
RUSTON – Louisiana Tech softball will conclude its five-game home stand with a matchup against McNeese State on Tuesday afternoon at Dr. Billy Bundrick Field. First pitch against the Cowgirls is set for 4:00 p.m. The game will be broadcast on ESPN+.

SERIES HISTORY
This will be the 92nd all-time meeting between the Bulldogs and Cowgirls, with LA Tech leading the series 60-31. The Bulldogs have won four straight dating back to 2022, including three wins over McNeese last season. LA Tech took down MSU 8-0 in six innings in the LSU Tournament on March 3 last season at the hands of a complete game from Allie Floyd. The Bulldogs turned around and traveled to McNeese two days later March 5 and defeated the Cowgirls 3-1. McNeese paid a visit to Ruston on April 30 and lost 4-0, in a game that Paris Endris hit a three-run home run to give Tech the lead in.
ABOUT LA TECH
The Bulldogs moved to 12-11 (1-2 CUSA) after going 1-2 against New Mexico State in the opening weekend of Conference USA action. LA Tech dropped the opener 5-0 to NMSU and fell 3-1 on Saturday, while leaving 19 runners on base across the two games. The Bulldogs bounced back in the series finale plating 10 runs in a 10-4 victory over the Aggies.
Freshman Elena Heng became the first Bulldog to record 30 hits this season after going 5-for-9 at the plate in the series. Heng registered her ninth and 10th multi-hit games of the season after collecting two hits on Saturday and three on Sunday. Her .411 batting average leads the team while her 18 runs is tied for second. Heng leads the squad with seven stolen bases.
Claire Raley carries a .406 batting average and has recorded 28 hits which both rank second on the team. Raley is the only Bulldog with 20+ RBI (21), while her four home runs are the second most behind Nicole Hammoude's five.
Hammoude (23 hits) and Alannah Rogers (21 hits) round out the Bulldogs that have 20+ hits this season. Hammoude is second on the team with 17 RBI, while Rogers is second with 18 runs scored.
Allie Floyd earned her eighth win of the season against the Aggies on Sunday after tossing all 7.0 innings while allowing four runs and striking out seven. Floyd took the loss in the opener, but struck out eight, giving her nine consecutive games with 5+ strikeouts. Floyd leads CUSA in wins (8), strikeouts (84), and complete games (8). Floyd has 33 more strikeouts than the next closest pitcher in CUSA rankings.
Floyd's 84 strikeouts are the 20th most in the NCAA, while her eight complete games rank eighth in the nation.
Mattison Buster (2-2) has not allowed a run across her last 7.0 innings. Buster pitched two scoreless frames against NMSU on Friday, and logged one more against the Aggies on Saturday, allowing just one hit both days. She was coming off four scoreless innings against SFA.
ABOUT MCNEESE
The Cowgirls moved to 14-12 (1-2 SLC) on the season after Blanking Minnesota 2-0 on Tuesday afternoon. McNeese went 1-2 in their Southland Conference opener as they traveled to Beaumont, Texas, to face Lamar.
The Cowgirls are batting .281 as a team and have collected 183 runs on 121 hits this season. Samantha Mundine leads the team with 27 base knocks, while Jada Munoz is right behind her with 26, followed by Kassidy Chance who has 25 hits. Alexis Dibbley leads the team with 15 RBI, followed by Munoz who has driven in 14. Munoz leads the team with seven home runs.
Maddie Taylor has a team-high five wins in the circle as she sits at 5-4. Taylor leads the team in innings pitched (51.2), and strikeouts (30). Ryann Schexnayder holds a 3-1 record with a 3.86 ERA and 22 strikeouts. Kadence Williams has a staff-low 2.16 ERA with a 2-4 record as she has tossed 35.2 innings.
