Preview: LA Tech at Music City Classic

RUSTON — The 11th-ranked Louisiana Tech bowling team will close out the regular season with the Music City Classic hosted by No. 3 Vanderbilt at the Smyrna Bowling Center in Smyrna, Tennessee Starting on March 14.

ABOUT LOUISIANA TECH (73-41)
Louisiana Tech took second place at the United States Bowling Congress Intercollegiate Team Championship Sectional last weekend at Stardust Bowl in Addison, Illinois. The finish secured the team's fifth consecutive trip to the USBC ITC championships in Las Vegas starting on April 16.
 
Kylee Trexler led a group of six Bulldogs to finish in the top 50 in the singles sectional. The left-hander qualified for her second USBC ISC championship by throwing a 1,335 for the six games to finish second out of the 215-person field.
 
The lone senior for Tech, Allyson Sand, made a run at the top seven. Sand finished with a 1,279 for 11th, just 31 pins back. She would throw every game over 190. Starting with a 256, Sand would finish with 223, 194, 191, 192 and 223.
 
Arianna Araujo, Abbie Leiendecker, and Rachel Ong finished in the top 30 and the plus. Araujo shot 224, 181, 197, 140, 235 and 246 for a 1,223 to finish 23rd. Leiendecker rolled 209, 213, 168, 226, 191 and 213 for a 1,220, while Ong had 144, 213, 177, 224, 247 and 212 for a 1,217 to finish 27th and 29th, respectively.
