Bulldogs set for second CUSA series of season
RUSTON – Louisiana Tech softball will travel to El Paso, Texas, for a three game Conference USA series against the UTEP Miners this weekend. The series will open with a single game on Saturday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. CT, followed by a double header on Sunday that is slated to begin at 11:30 a.m. CT. All games will be streamed on ESPN+.

SERIES HISTORY
This will be the 43rd all-time meeting between the Bulldogs and Miners. LA Tech leads the series 25-17 after going 2-2 against the Miners last season. UTEP took the regular season series 2-1, but LA Tech earned a second win over the Miners in the CUSA tournament, winning 2-0. The Bulldogs and Miners first met in 2004 with LA Tech taking both games, followed by three more games in 2005, with UTEP taking the series 2-1. The two schools would meet again six years later in 2011 and have played every year since except for the 2013 season.
ABOUT LA TECH
The Bulldogs moved to 13-11 (1-2 CUSA) after defeating McNeese 10-5 in a comeback win on Wednesday night at Dr. Billy Bundrick Field. Tech's 10 runs marked back-to-back 10-run performances after scoring 10 against NMSU last Sunday in the series finale. The Bulldogs are now 4-0 when scoring 10+ runs this season.
Elena Heng continues to lead the Bulldogs in batting average (.408) and hits (31). Claire Raley ranks second on the team with a .403 batting average and 29 hits. Nicole Hammoude hit her fourth home run of the season on Wednesday against McNeese and recorded three RBI, giving her 20 RBI on the season. Raley leads the team with 22 RBI.
Allie Furr recorded the first multi-hit game of her career against MSU with three base knocks to give her 12 hits on the season. Alannah Rogers added three RBI to her season total against the Cowgirls to give her 10 on the season. Rogers is ranked fourth on the team with 23 base knocks. Sophomore catcher Addison Snyder recorded her 10th hit and 10th RBI of the season on Wednesday against McNeese.
Allie Floyd moved to 9-5 in the circle after picking up a win in relief against MSU. Floyd pitched the final 4.1 innings and continued her streak of 5+ strikeouts after recording five. The junior only allowed one infield single and no runs in her 4.1 innings of work. Floyd carries a team-best 3.21 ERA and has struck out 89 batters this season while allowing 79 hits and 47 runs (39 earned).
ABOUT UTEP
The Miners enter this weekend's CUSA series with a 10-12 (0-3 CUSA) mark. UTEP was swept by Jax State to open CUSA play, falling 6-0, 10-7, and 5-3. The Miners dropped three games to Utah State, Arizona State and Grand Canyon the prior weekend.
Ajia Richard leads UTEP in every major offensive category, including batting average (.523), hits (34), runs (15), RBI (21) and home runs (8). Halle Hogan is second on the team with 20 base knocks while her .339 average is third best on the team. Amaya Lee is second on the Miners with 14 RBI to go along with 12 hits and four long balls.
Taja Felder is UTEP's top pitcher, as she holds a 5-6 record in the circle in 33.2 innings of work. Audrey Gallegos leads the team with 40.1 innings under her belt, while she has a 3-3 record and leads the team with 17 strikeouts.
