RUSTON – Louisiana Tech softball continues its eight-game road trip as the Bulldogs travel to Kennesaw, Ga., to take on Kennesaw State in a three game Conference USA series. The three-game set will begin on Thursday at 5:00 p.m. CT, followed by a Friday night matchup at the same time. The two schools will close out the series on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. CT. All three games will be streamed on ESPN+.

SERIES HISTORY VS. KSU
This will be the first ever meeting between LA Tech and Kennesaw State. The Owls have been DI members since 2006 and have competed in the Atlantic Sun Conference up until this season.
ABOUT LA TECH
The Bulldogs improved to 25-18 (11-7 CUSA) after going to 1-2 in Miami against FIU this past weekend. LA Tech fell to the Panthers 6-5 on Friday and 5-2 on Saturday, before winning the series finale 5-4 on Sunday afternoon. LA Tech enters the weekend in a three-way tie for second in CUSA. The Bulldogs (11-7) are tied with FIU and Sam Houston.
Allie Floyd became the first LA Tech pitcher to record 150+ strikeouts in a season since 2011 after recording five in Sunday's win over FIU. She fanned five in the complete game win to give her a CUSA leading 153 strikeouts this season. Floyd moved to 18-9 in the circle after picking up one win and one loss. She leads the league in innings pitched (159.0), wins (18), complete games (13), and strikeouts (153).
True freshman Laney Johnson sits at 4-3 in the circle after taking the loss to FIU on Saturday. Johnson has appeared in 17 games with 12 starts. She ranks second on the team in wins (4), and innings pitched (52.1). The Stonewall native has fanned 15 batters and walked 18, while allowing 34 runs (29 earned) on 59 hits.
Alexis Gilio became the fourth Bulldog player to collect 40+ hits this season after she finished with five base knocks in the series against FIU. Gilio finished two hits in Friday night's loss, followed by three more on Saturday. The senior center fielder is batting .304 and is one of four Bulldogs with a .300+ batting average. She has scored 21 runs and has driven in 16 runs.
Elena Heng became the first Bulldog to reach 50 hits this season after adding three against FIU. The true freshman leads the team with 16-multi-hit games this season and leads the team with 34 runs. She is batting .350 and has stolen a team-high 12 bases.
Reagan Marchant added two home runs to her season total after hitting solo shots on Friday and Saturday. The South Carolina transfer leads the team with 12 home runs and ranks second on the team with 32 RBI. Marchant is batting .296 with 37 hits and 21 runs.
ABOUT KENNESAW STATE
The Owls enter this weekend's series with a 10-24 (1-17 CUSA) record. KSU is last in CUSA with just one win over WKU (1-0). KSU has wins over Rider, ETSU, Saint Louis, Georgia State, Memphis, Northern Kentucky, and Morehead State.
KSU has been outhit 331-262, while they have been outscored 240-137. The Owls are batting .236 as a team and only have one player with a .275 batting average or higher. Hannah Harvey leads the Owls in batting average (.286), and hits (40). She is second on the team with 18 RBI. Ana Gore leads KSU with 25 RBI while her 33 hits are fourth best. Ava Guzowski and Lexie Shaver both have 34 hits and 18 RBI. Guzowski and Gore lead the team with four home runs apiece.
Kennesaw's pitching staff carries a 4.90 ERA as opponents are batting .287 against them. Emma Friedel holds a 6-13 record in the circle while Keley Hilleary is 3-6. Friedel has tossed 91.1 innings and has fanned 91 batters while walking 68. Hilleary has logged 78.0 innings and shas struck out 48, while walking 48.
