LA Tech Achieves High APR Scores

Six athletic programs at LA Tech either matched or set a new multi-year rate record in the NCAA’s latest Academic Progress Rates (APR)

RUSTON – Six athletic programs at Louisiana Tech either matched or set a new multi-year rate record as the NCAA's latest Academic Progress Rates (APR) were released Tuesday.

All 16 of LA Tech's Division I programs remained penalty free as the multi-year rates reflected scores for the 2020-21, 2021-22, 2022-23, and 2023-24 academic years while the single-year rates are based on the 2023-24 academic year.

LA Tech Athletics combined to post a multi-year rate of 981.2, marking the third straight year with at least a 981.0.  Baseball (989), Men's Cross Country (1,000), Men's Golf (1,000), Women's Basketball (989), Women's Soccer (989), and Women's Track (976) all registered multi-year rate highs.  Ten programs ended up achieving a multi-year rate of at least 980.

Meanwhile, five programs posted a perfect single-year rating of 1,000 including Men's Golf (fifth straight year), Women's Cross Country (eighth time in the last nine years), Women's Soccer (third time ever), Women's Tennis (ninth time in the last 12 years), and Women's Volleyball (fifth time in the last seven years).

This marked the seventh consecutive year that at least five programs recorded a perfect single-year APR score.

The Academic Progress Rate measures the eligibility, retention, and graduation of student-athletes competing on every Division I sports team and serves as a predictor of graduation success.
