RUSTON — The Louisiana Tech women's bowling team earned the Conference USA Sport Academic Team Award, announced by the league on Friday.

The Sport Academic Award is given to the team in each conference-sponsored sport with the highest GPA for the academic year. LA Tech finished with a cumulative 3.678 GPA for the academic year.

Six Bulldogs achieved a 3.4 GPA or higher for the academic school year – Senior
Allyson Sand, juniorÂ
Jenna Stretch, sophomoresÂ
Kylee Trexler and
Rachel Ong, and freshmen
Arianna Araujo and
Ashley Imhoff.

Ong earned CUSA All-Academic honors to go along with her CUSA Commissioner's Honor Roll and CUSA Academic Medal. Stretch, Trexler, Araujo and Imhoff received the Academic Medal with the Commissioner's Honor Roll distinction. Sand received the Commissioner's Honor Roll for the fourth consecutive year.

Coming off another historic season, the Bulldogs qualified for their fifth consecutive NCAA Regional. LA Tech finished with the second most wins in program history at 84.
