TULSA, Okla. – Louisiana Tech dropped Sunday afternoon's contest to the Oral Roberts Golden Eagles, 3-0, at Case Soccer Complex in Tulsa.
Sunday's match marked the third-straight contest the Bulldogs suffered a shutout as well as conceding at least 20 shots to their opponent.
The Bulldogs put up their first opportunity to score just under 12 minutes into the match when
Abby Hanton served a cross from the left side outside of the box to an incoming
Peyton Wiseman, but the freshman's attempt sailed high over the post.
Tech earned a free kick just outside of the box from the left side looking to put the first goal of the match in. Annie Meador fired a shot towards the frame, but it was knocked away before the line judge called offside.
Oral Roberts broke the scoreless battle in the 53rd minute after a pass was chipped from just outside the box and sent into an incoming Golden Eagle forward who put it in the right side of the net from the left side of the keeper's box without allowing a bounce.
The Golden Eagles followed up with a brace in the 65th minute on a cross into the box for an open score before tacking on their third goal of the afternoon 11 minutes later.
Peyton Wiseman and
Ashley Leonhart both took a pair of shots with Leonhart putting the lone shot in frame for the 'Dogs in Sunday's contest.
Jasmine Walia made her Bulldog debut, playing 37 minutes off the bench.
Cadence Rutledge set a new career high with 14 saves while also posting her second career 10-save performance. The last time she had 10 saves in a match was at Texas A&M on September 8, 2024 when she recorded a then-career high 12 saves.
The Bulldogs close out their five-match road trip next week when they head to Mississippi to face No. 17 Mississippi State in Starkville on Thursday, September 4 at 6:30 p.m. CT and Southern Miss in Hattiesburg on Sunday, September 7 at 1 p.m. CT. Thursday's match will be streamed on SEC Network+ and Sunday's match can be found on ESPN+.
