ABOUT LOUISIANA TECH (6-7)
LA Tech went 1-2 in its last non-conference tournament at the Texan Classic. The heartbreaker was the opening match against North Texas when the Bulldogs had a 2-0 set lead and was up 9-4 in the fifth set before the Mean Green stormed back with an 11-1 run. After falling in straight sets to host Tarleton State, the 'Dogs left on a high note with a convincing 3-0 win (25-19, 25-7, 25-18) over Arkansas-Pine Bluff.

Sydnee Carter was named to the All-Tournament Team as the freshman setter tallied 37 total assists. She currently paces the team with 203 assists, including four matches of 20+ (had 21 against the Texans in just three sets).

Jailen Hurley totaled a team-high 19 kills in the Texan Classic. The senior, who recently eclipsed 500 career kills, has led the Bulldogs in that category five times this season. She has a .281 hitting percentage and a team-high 125.0 points.

Libero/defensive specialist Riley Steubing has been a steady presence on defense, tallying double-digit digs in nine of the last 11 matches since taking over the position. The junior registered 20+ digs in all three matches in the Bulldog Bash, becoming just the second Bulldog in the last 15 years to have three straight games of 20+ digs. She currently ranks third in CUSA and 32nd in the nation in total digs (202). She also recently eclipsed 500 career digs as a Bulldog.

ABOUT GRAMBLING STATE (1-8)
Grambling State suffered eight straight losses all via straight sets to start the season, but the Lady Tigers got into the win column this past Saturday with a 3-0 victory over Northwestern State in the Southern Miss Invitational.

Offensively, the Lady Tigers are hitting .101 as a team with Kenya Lucas pacing the way with 58 total kills.  Alayna Howard is the primary setter, having totaled 142 assists.  Defensively, GSU is averaging 1.3 blocks per set, having gotten 20 of its 34 blocks from Ra'Niya Brown.

Tuesday will be GSU's second home match of the season.

THE SERIES
The Bulldogs have only ever lost one time against their crosstown foes, owning a 34-1 record against the Lady Tigers.  That loss was the first ever meeting between the two programs back in 1987.  LA Tech has since won 34 straight, including their last meeting which was a 3-1 victory over GSU in 2023.  This will be the 'Dogs first trip to Grambling since 2021.

LA Tech is 5-0 this season against SWAC opponents with two victories over Jackson State and one each against Alcorn State, Southern, and Arkansas-Pine Bluff.
