ABOUT LOUISIANA TECH (19-5, 12-1 CUSA)
The Lady Techsters are coming off their toughest battle yet, narrowly escaping Missouri State by one point in the final seconds in the Thomas Assembly Center.
Â
The offense started hot for LA Tech, scoring the first seven points and leading by 10 twice in the opening frame.
Jordan Marshall nearly outpaced the Lady Bears herself, scoring nine to MoState's 11. Missouri State fought back early in the second quarter, sparking an 8-0 run to force an early Louisiana Tech timeout. The Lady Techsters could not find any footing on offense, only making two baskets in 10 minutes. The Lady Techsters could not string together stops, allowing the Lady Bears to score 25 in the frame. MoState led by as much as 9, taking an eight point lead into the final quarter.
Paris Bradley then took the game into her own hands, knocking down two threes to cut the lead to two. More clutch three point shooting helped trim the lead, none more important than
Kaleigh Thompson's to take the lead with two minutes to play. Bradley would ultimately go to the line to shoot two, down one, with six seconds to play. Swish, swish. LA Tech wins 68-67.
Â
Jianna Morris made Louisiana Tech history in that game. Morris made her 67
th three pointer of the season, surpassing Raizel Guinto's 66 for the most in a season by a junior in program history. Morris has made a triple in 30 straight games, dating back to last season.
