RUSTON – Louisiana Tech freshman pitcher Bryannah Campos has been named Conference USA Freshman of the Week, announced by the league office Monday.

Campos had a weekend to remember, as the lefty went 2-0 with one save in the Southern Miss Black and Gold Challenge.

The Texas native logged 10.2 innings across three appearances including one start. Campos did not allow a single run, while allowing just four hits and two walks in her first three collegiate outings. She registered six strikeouts, including three against Southeast Missouri and three versus Southern Miss.

Campos made her debut against UAB, pitching the final 2.0 innings to earn a save. She allowed no runs, no hits and no walks in her first game, and would go on to make her first career start against SEMO just 35 minutes later. Campos excelled, allowing no runs, two hits and one walk in 4.0 innings against the RedHawks.

She returned to the circle in relief on Sunday against Southern Miss, pitching the final 4.2 innings of an 8-3 extra inning win. Campos allowed two hits, no runs, one walk and struck out three.

Campos and the Bulldogs return to action Wednesday evening, taking on Southeastern in Hammond at 5 p.m. The game will be aired on ESPN+.
