LAKE CHARLES, La. -- Four Bulldogs combined for five rounds at or under par Monday as Louisiana Tech completed 36 holes at the Golden Nugget Invitational.

Playing at the Country Club at the Golden Nugget in south Louisiana, two Bulldogs -- Oskari Schuvalow and Abel Derksen -- are tied for 30th while the other two Bulldogs -- Riley Hnatyshyn and Morton Bailey -- are tied for 36th amongst the field of 69 golfers.

Derksen got off to a rough start, making double bogey on his very first hole of the day. However, the sophomore played the remaining 17 holes at five under, including an eagle on the Par 5 No. 12, to shoot three under in round one. He got to five under on the day after making back-to-back birdies early in round two, but a tough stretch on the front nine led to a two over 74.

Schuvalow had an identical round as Derksen, carding a 69 (-3) in round one and 74 (+2) in round two. The junior tore up the back nine in his first round, shooting four under with no bogeys. He also caught fire in round two, making four out of five birdies from holes eight through 12.

Hnatyshyn shot Even par 72 in both rounds. The senior made birdies in both rounds on holes No. 1, No. 4, and No. 12. Lastly, Bailey rebounded from a two over 74 to finish in the red in round two at two under (70). The sophomore was one over through 14 holes, but finished strong by making bird on three of his last four holes for his team-leading 10th round at or under par this season.

The Bulldogs will play the third and final round of the Golden Nugget Invitational tomorrow. It will be another 8:45 a.m. CT shotgun start.
