RUSTON – Louisiana Tech softball's
Allie Floyd and
Allie Furr were named to the 2026 Conference USA All-Academic Team, announced by the league office on Friday.
Floyd and Furr are two of 11 players that were selected to the team that is voted on by academic advisors from each member institution. It marks the seventh and eighth time that a Bulldog has been named to the team, joining
Allie Furr (2025),
KB Briley (2025),
Nicole Hammoude (2024), Katelin Cooper (2024), Lindsay Edwards (2022), and Morgan Turkoly (2019).
The Bulldogs are one of three schools to have two players selected to the All-Academic team. This marks the third consecutive year that two Bulldogs have earned the achievement.
Floyd, a fourth-year senior, earned her bachelor's degree in biology in the fall of 2025 and is currently pursuing her MBA. She is a four-time CUSA Academic Medalist (2023-26) and has earned a spot on the CUSA Commissioner's Honor Roll each of those four years. Floyd was also named an NFCA Scholar-Athlete in 2023 and received CSC Academic All-District honors in 2024 and 2025. Floyd has been recognized on the AD Honor Roll 10 times, the Dean's List eight times and the President's List six times.
Floyd leads the team with 10 wins in the circle this season. She has a 3.12 ERA across 137 innings with 104 strikeouts. In her career, Floyd has appeared in 143 games with 89 starts in the circle. She has recorded 53 career wins, ranking ninth in program history, and tallied 413 strikeouts, which ranks eighth all-time. Floyd owns a 2.83 ERA across 615.1 career innings pitched.
Furr holds a 3.98 GPA in animal science. This marks the second time Furr has been named to the Conference USA All-Academic Team after earning the honor in 2025. She is a three-time CUSA Academic Medalist (2024-26) and has earned CUSA Commissioner's Honor Roll recognition each of those three years. Furr was also named an NFCA Scholar-Athlete in 2025. She has made Honor Roll recognition eight times, Dean's List honors eight times and President's List seven times.
Furr has played in 50 games this season with 49 starts. She leads the team with 60 hits, which ranks fifth most in CUSA. The Ruston native has scored 27 runs and has drove in 14. She shares the team lead with 16 multi-hit games. Furr recorded her 100
th career hit in the win over UTEP on April 30. She has played in 107 career games with 98 starts. Furr has 101 career hits, 50 runs and 19 RBI.
