RUSTON – Sophomore first baseman Trey Hawsey has been named to the ABCA/Rawlings All-South Region First Team, per the association's release Tuesday morning. The teams are selected by members of the ABCA, with the process overseen by the ABCA NCAA Division I All-America & Coach of the Year Committee.
 
The West Monroe native was selected amongst a group of 20 student-athletes to the South Region's First Team, and was one of five that played in the state of Louisiana. The other four Louisiana-based players were all members of LSU's baseball roster.
 
Hawsey led the Bulldogs with 76 hits, 15 homers, 47 RBI and 135 total bases en route to his second Second Team All-Conference selection in as many seasons. He was one of three Tech players to start in all 58 games for the 'Dogs, and led the team with 25 multi-hit games, nine three-hit games, a 16-game hitting streak, a 26-game reached base streak, and was the only Bulldog to record at least 10 multi-RBI games.
 
He posted 14 games with multiple runs driven in—nine with 2+ RBI, four with 3+ RBI and one 4-RBI game.
 
Hawsey is the first Bulldog selection to the All-Region team since Ethan Bates in 2024, and is the first infielder from LA Tech selected since Taylor Young in 2022. Since 2001, Hawsey is the 10th Bulldog to be named to the All-Region squad and the seventh to receive First Team accolades.
