Elliott Burrows Signs With Diamond ‘Dogs

Louisiana Tech adds more depth to their 2027 pitching staff.
RUSTON – Head coach Lane Burroughs and Louisiana Tech baseball have announced the official signing of right-handed pitcher Elliott Burrows, an entering redshirt sophomore transferring from McNeese.
Born in Shreveport, Burrows attended Magnolia High School in Magnolia, Texas, where he was named First Team All-District and MHS Pitcher of the Year. He began his collegiate career at Navarro College, where he redshirted as a true freshman before transferring to McNeese prior to the 2026 season.
Burrows was one of six Cowboy pitchers with at least 20 appearances, making 21 all in relief. Of those 21 appearances, he posted 13 scoreless outings (min. 1 IP) including his first three performances of the season. He registered a career-high five strikeouts in two scoreless frames of a 12-2 win over LSU-Alexandria before sitting down five hitters in three innings against Southern.
The 5-foot 11-inch hurler ended the year with a 3.67 ERA and an 0-1 record, striking out 32 across 27 full innings of work. He allowed 11 earned runs on 19 walks and 30 base hits, and posted a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage with three assists.
Burrows' father, Terry Burrows, pitched for McNeese during the 1989 and 1990 seasons, and was eventually inducted into the McNeese Athletics Hall of Fame in 2009. He was also drafted by the Texas Rangers in the seventh round of the 1990 MLB Draft, playing with them for two years in 1994 and 1995.
He spent the 1996 season with the Milwaukee Brewers before spending his final big-league campaign with the San Diego Padres in 1997.
