RUSTON – The Louisiana Tech golf team will open the season at the Florida Atlantic Invitational in Jupiter, Florida on Sept. 21 and 22.Â

About Louisiana TechÂ
The Bulldogs are entering a new era, with Keenan Hickton being named head coach this July. Hickton comes to Ruston after serving as head coach of Division III Sewanee. While there, he was named the 2026 NCAA Division III Dave Williams National Coach of the Year after guiding the Tigers to fourth-place in the Division III Championship and two tournament titles. He also won the Coach of the Year award for both the 24-25 and 25-26 seasons in the Southern Athletic Association. Prior to coaching at Sewanee, he was an assistant coach at Emory for six years, where they won 22 tournaments, three University Athletic Association championships, and totaled a 812-109 head-to-head record.Â
Louisiana Tech is returning Morton Bailey, Abel Derksen, Gray Kingrea, Alejandro Sanchez, and Oskari Schuvalow from last season. Bailey and Schuvalow both played in all twelve events last season, each with a top-ten placement each. Bailey finished in the top 20 five separate times.Â
The Bulldogs include four transfers and one newcomer this season. Reda El Hali is a third year student from Odessa College. In the 25-26 season he recorded three top fifteen finishes. He is also a member of the Moroccan National Team. Hugo Griesheimer comes from Point University, where the Skyhawks reached the NAIA National Championship in the 25-26 season. Jakub Janda enters his second year after a season at Houston. Before college, he recorded multiple top[-five finishes in the Czech Open and SKGA Junior Tours. Aidan Tudor comes to Ruston from Sewanee for his second year, following Coach Hickton. In his year at Sewanee, he won the Southern Athletic Association Rookie of the Year. Amine El Omari is the lone first year player. In 2026 he participated in the All Africa Junior Golf Team Championship in Kenya, finishing sixth.Â
